Region X Initial Immunization Report and Covid Testing Update

In 2020, Region X provided over 380,000 Covid tests and over 270,000 Flu shots. This year, we have been able to start vaccinations with the Vaccine Program and HRSA Allocations. We have initiated over 300,00 Immunizations and provided over 248,000 Completed Immunizations.

Tracking immunizations has had its hurdles, not only with the extensive administration needs, but also delays with EHRs and updating multiple systems. We can see a distinct decrease in staff cases of COVID-19 right after staff were able to receive immunizations.

When we examine more closely, we can also see a recent uptick in cases amongst staff since March, when staff reporting of immunizations dropped. Many regions are struggling with vaccine hesitancy within some populations. Do you suspect that this is happening within our health care providers as well? What is happening in your health center?
