The Delta Companies will be exhibiting at the 2018 Spring Primary Care Conference. They are also a partner organization offering physician and allied health placements for NWRPCA members.

A note from NWRPCA: Members of NWRPCA enjoy a variety of benefits in workforce development, education and training, networking and partnerships, and high-level advocacy. These Member Services fulfill the NWRPCA mission to strengthen community and migration health (C/MHC) centers in the Northwest by leveraging regional power and resources on their behalf. Physician and staff recruitment often present challenges to the staff experience of the C/MHC as their professional home, and their ability to serve their communities well. To mitigate the common community health center challenge of recruiting qualified workforce, NWRPCA has partnered with organizations such as The Delta Companies for physician and allied health placements. We continuously build the trust relationship with our members by vetting the recruitment organizations and their performance in the placement process. We look closely for a history of dedication to C/MHCs, adaptability to the C/MHC business model, service affordability and placement efficiency, and responsiveness to feedback from our members that have worked with a potential partner. These partnerships fulfill a vital part of the NWRPCA mission and vision that to reach far beyond member discounts to assist C/MHCs in best serving their communities.

The Delta Companies (TDC) is a leading healthcare staffing firm with a 20-year history of aligning talented providers with facilities to provide excellence in patient care. These successful job placements have enabled more than 37 million patient encounters collectively across all 50 states. TDC is comprised of three business units: Delta Healthcare Providers (permanent advanced practitioner providers and all allied healthcare), Delta Physician Placement (permanent physician placement), and Delta Locum Tenens (locum tenens).

Across the nation, the need for quality healthcare services far outpaces the number of available providers. This gap has led to issues like longer wait times and rising costs, even for facilities that are proactively working to optimize staffing. The greatest need is finding providers who can fulfill long- and short-term needs within a range of specialties and practices. This is especially pronounced at CHCs.

As such, the pressure is on for recruiters to accurately align providers and opportunities. And while most of these professionals are trying to reach physicians who are actively looking for a job, the recruiters at TDC have a different approach.

Our recruiters consider both active and passive candidates in every search. We also help facilities differentiate and market their unique opportunities so that candidates can easily understand the position - and the benefits of working at the facility and location.

How We Do It

  • Outreach: The professionals at TDC use every applicable outreach channel to recruit highly-qualified providers. Our strategy includes email, social media platforms, direct mail, conferences (both regional and national), cold-calls, and innovation in technology including AI and chat bots.
  • Onsite Profiles: Our recruiters personally visit each facility to collect in-depth information about the staff, facility operations, and community. Through these onsite profiles, TDC can better communicate the job opportunity and lifestyle amenities, thereby boosting placement accuracy and efficiency.

Successful Outcomes
Because of our strong network and contacts, TDC recruiters can fulfil even the most specific job requirements. Some of our success stories include:

Finding the Needle in the Haystack in 60 Days

A Seattle-based medical and dental clinic was seeking a family medical provider specializing in obstetrics (FM-OB). And because 90 percent of the client population use English as a second language, the facility needed that provider to speak Chinese. TDC located a FM-OB provider from the states who was working in Thailand and spoke two different Chinese dialects. She was signed in exactly 60 days.

Aligning Talent with C/MHCs

In less than 90 days, DPP and DHP have made 10 placements with Northwest Regional Primary Care Association members in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

"I highly recommend Delta Recruitment and especially Travis Nash for your health care recruitment needs. I administer 5 Community Health Centers in remote Alaska and have historically had a very difficult time recruiting competent NPs and PAs that have the experience and attitude we need to provide medical service to our communities. Our sites serve extremely remote communities with high costs of living, and the providers we look for must possess a diverse clinical skillset to meet the challenges of our demanding workplace. Travis has assisted with providing very competent provider's resumes and has worked closely with us for each step in the recruitment process," said Susan Hoeldt, Community Health Center Administrator, Aniak, Alaska.

"Any time we encounter difficulties or a barrier, Travis assisted with feedback on how to overcome. Communication with his team has been amazing and very thorough. Health Clinics that I have had a vacancy for over 5 years are now filled with amazing providers that have signed on for at least 3 year contracts. Currently four out of 5 clinics are fully staffed with medical providers and this has never happened in the history of opening the Community Health Centers in Alaska. If your site has had difficulty in recruitment I recommend that you hire the experts to assist in your recruitment process and guarantee you will see amazing results," adds Hoeldt.

Crossing the Finish Line

A facility in need of a Medical Director interviewed several candidates, but didn't have the time to complete the search. TDC stepped in, identified two candidates, and one provider was interviewed and then hired within 69 days.

  • 45 days: Placement for two Nurse Practitioners in Corvallis, Oregon
  • 60 days: Placement for a Family Medical Provider specializing in Obstetrics in Seattle, Washington
  • 65 days: Placement for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Othello, Washington
  • 69 days: Placement for a Medical Director in Payette, Idaho
  • 103 days: Placement for a Family Medical Provider specializing in Obstetrics in Rupert, Idaho
  • 12 months: Placement for 18 Nurse Practitioner/Registered Nurses in Bethel, Alaska
