Alaska Psychiatrist Opportunity

The Tanana Chiefs Conference Behavioral Health Clinic in Fairbanks, Alaska is now hiring for a board certified General Psychiatrist to provide direct clinical services including psychiatric assessment, advanced health evaluations, psychotherapy and medication prescriptions, primarily in an outpatient tribal health setting. Candidates must embody respect, humility and cultural sensitivity. Expectation for psychiatrist to collaborate with TCC primary care providers for optimal patient care as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

·       M.D. or D.O. degree and successful graduation from an accredited psychiatric residency program in the U.S.A.

·       Current DEA license with the authority to prescribe and dispense legend drugs and schedule 2-5 controlled substances in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.

·       Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

·       Three years’ experience in a behavioral health clinic or hospital providing services with one year post residency experience.

·       Three years’ experience with DSM 5 diagnosis, treatment coordination, planning, and follow up, crisis intervention, consultation and coordination with medical staff, other agencies and providers, routine charting and writing professional reports.

·       Three years of clinical supervision experience.

·       Previous clinical experience in cross-cultural or tribal health setting preferred.

·       Previous experience with dual diagnosis, detoxification and addiction treatment strongly preferred.

·       Must pass background check pursuant to Alaska DHSS and federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.

Fairbanks is Interior Alaska’s urban hub. The Fairbanks based clinic is itself a hub that serves the larger mission of supporting health and wellness to Indian Health Service beneficiaries--Alaska Natives and American Indians, as well as many non-beneficiaries, in 42 villages across the river systems of the Interior (Yukon, Koyukuk, Kuskokwim, Tanana and more). This 235,000 square mile region is the home of the Tanana Chiefs Conference.

Salary DOE $245K to $315K range

Full benefits include medical, dental, vision, CME--up to $5K annually & 80 hours (not taken from PTO), retirement plans, profit sharing (TCC takes 7% of your annual salary—their money not from your paycheck—and places it into a profit sharing account for you), malpractice & licensure fees, 30 days PTO plus 11 paid holidays.
