Join us for a "Uniform Data System Training" in Portland, Ore. on December 5-6, 2018.

This two-day in-person training will be covering the preparation of the 2018 Uniform Data System (UDS) Report. The training addresses each of the report's tables, including a discussion of the changes that have been made and the definitions necessary to complete the Report.

The UDS training is aimed at those who are responsible for gathering and reporting the data elements included in the UDS Report, as well as management and clinical staff who need to understand the definitions and concepts used and those who use the data in their program management and improvement activities.

Speaker Highlights

Day 1 Speaker (December 5)
Art Stickgold

Art Stickgold's work focuses on program planning, development, and evaluation in areas associated with primary health care and has done extensive training associated with these same areas. His work was primarily for publicly funded, not-for-profit organizations and for federal, state and local agencies with the resources for funding and the responsibility for evaluating these same programs. Major recent efforts have focused on the development and funding of new programs, the design and programming of management information systems for federal and state granting agencies; and the analysis of grantee performance.

"A specialized area of work has revolved around the management information systems used by the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC). In 1994 we had the responsible for drafting the revisions to the final BCRR manual and instrument. Once the new Uniform Data System (UDS) was created to replace the BCRR, we have had responsibility for revisions to the manual; for redesign of data collection instruments; and for the initial development of all computer software used to receive, analyze and report on the data until it was transferred to the EHB.  We have also had the contract to edit all data submissions nationally, and to correct the data for errors of omission and commission. With the transfer of this contract to John Snow Inc. and then top Advocates for Human Potential Inc, we have continued our editing and supervision roles. Over the past 25 years we have edited well over 2000 individual UDS reports (and another 500 – 1000 BCRR reports) working with the submitting grantees to identify issues and correct error," says Stickgold.

Day 2 Speaker (December 6)
