The Veterans Choice Program (VCP) was created in 2014 through the Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act after it was discovered that tens of thousands of veterans across the country were waiting excessive times to receive care from the Veterans Health Administration. The VCP allows eligible veterans to receive healthcare from non-VHA community providers, including community health centers (CHCs). Since its inception, CHCs and Primary Care Associations across the nation have made improving veteran outreach and care a top priority. This webinar discussed the latest and greatest around the VCP, practical outreach and enrollment tactics, and how a CHC created an innovative program to engage veterans and introduce them to their local CHC.
