At NWRPCA, we’ve been hearing a clear message from our board members and health center partners across the region:
AI is already fundamentally impacting community health.
Leaders are asking important questions about how AI will impact clinical care, workforce roles, compliance, operations, and patient engagement. At the same time, many health centers are looking for guidance on how to approach AI responsibly, strategically, and in alignment with mission-driven care.
In response, we’re hosting the Northwest Community Health AI Summit this summer in order to help health centers understand, evaluate, and thoughtfully implement AI tools that support high-quality care in the communities they serve
This 2-day, in-person summit is designed specifically for CHC teams to:
• Understand real-world AI use cases across clinical care, operations, and population health.
• Develop a practical approach to AI adoption and integration.
• Navigate emerging policy, compliance, and governance considerations.
• Address workforce implications—including staff concerns and role evolution.
• Engage directly with AI/technology vendors to explore solutions aligned with CHC needs
AI is no longer a future consideration, it is rapidly reshaping how care is delivered, managed, and financed.
For years, many of us have explored traditional AI tools for analyzing data and automating processes. Now, the newest wave of generative AI introduces systems that can create, synthesize, and collaborate with humans in real time.
For Community Health Centers, this presents both a profound opportunity and a real risk:

For Community Health Centers, this presents both a profound opportunity and a real risk:
- Opportunity to reduce administrative burden, improve access, and strengthen care delivery.
- Risk of falling behind in a landscape that is evolving faster than policy, workforce, and infrastructure can keep up.
