Leadership

 

Bruce Gray

CEO

Bruce provides high-level vision and leadership to develop and implement NWRPCA’s strategic plan under the guidance of our board. He works closely with program managers to ensure careful tactical execution of the plan, personally focusing on development of the Association’s network of strategic partnerships. With a master’s degree in public administration and a career spent in healthcare policy, including work in the Bureau of Primary Healthcare, Bruce is truly dedicated to helping improve the health, wellness and well-being of the medically underserved population across the Northwest.

Thornton Bowman

COO

Thornton directs the work of all departments toward operationalizing the goals and objectives of NWRPCA through planning, infrastructure improvement, and direct program assistance. He helps ensure the organization values staff potential and removes operational distractions so employees can do their best work. Thornton believes in the power of mindfulness and that we can and will get good things done.


Aaron Starr

CFO

Aaron Starr brings more than 19 years of business acumen, leadership, operation and management experience specific to the field of health care. Aaron’s career has included focus on the operational and financial performance of health care organizations with the goals of improving population health, value-based health care and clinical quality outcomes.

 

Aaron oversees all financial functions for the organization and works externally with NWRPCA’s members on board governance, business intelligence, continuing professional education, health care finance and operations.

 

Program Managers

 

Sadie Agurkis

Education and Training Program Manager

Sadie manages the range of educational opportunities that NWRPCA offers its members, including conferences, on-site trainings, and the distance-learning program. She is a master planner who works with all NWRPCA departments and many different partners to create successful trainings, and always tries to keeps us organized. A Certified Meeting Planner (CMP), she loves coming to work each day knowing her efforts ultimately support the life-changing work of others.


Kelly Rondou

Executive Support Manager

 

Kelly provides principal administrative support to the CEO and COO, and general administrative support to the board and organization. She’s the gatekeeper of calendars, ensuring the programs have the infrastructure they need to provide quality services. Kelly believes healthcare is a basic human right and appreciates how NWRPCA lives its mission and connects it to every aspect of an individual’s life.


Seth Doyle

Community Health Improvement Program Manager

Seth leads NWRPCA’s efforts around social determinants of health and health equity, community health worker workforce development, outreach and enrollment, community partnering and coalition building, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)/complex trauma. Seth joined NWRPCA in 2007 as Migrant Health Coordinator, providing training and technical assistance to migrant health grantees in region X. He continues to support migrant health centers in the region and is now our primary contact for all special populations grantees. In addition, Seth directs the planning of the Western Forum for Migrant and Community Health. In 2014, Seth received the GWU Geiger Gibson Emerging Leader Award.

Naveen Kanithi

Workforce Manager

Naveen manages workforce services and programs to support our health centers as professional homes. He is a leader in grants management for Workforce and addresses primary care clinician shortages with recruitment pathway programs, direct recruitment, retention, and interdisciplinary training. He provides leadership for our NWRPCA/A.T. Still SOMA medical school campus staff in Portland, OR. Naveen is highly motivated by the mission of NWRPCA and passionate about healthcare for all.

Jesse Burkard

Project Manager, Community Health Improvement Program

Jess manages all outreach and enrollment activities and special projects for the Community Health Improvement program. She believes healthcare is a right, not a privilege, and is motivated to make this a reality. Well-versed in ACA issues, Jess also enjoys working on program development, health advocacy, and serving underserved populations.


Katie Yankula

Office Manager

Katie is responsible for accounting, human resources support, and office management. Katie keeps the organization running smoothly day-to-day and interacts with all our departments. Having benefited from community health care, she finds it meaningful to reciprocate some of that support. Katie has an interest in acupuncture and holistic approaches to health care.


Alyssa Panning

Member Services Coordinator

Alyssa oversees services to and communication with members. She not only listens to member needs, she also assists our members in maximizing the value of membership resources and services.

Chris Spencer

Distance Learning Specialist

 

Chris manages the production of content for our learning portal and provides tech support for our training sessions and conferences. His background lies in audio production and music education, which brings a combination of technical expertise and a strong sense of instructional design.


Krista Chuscavage

Program Support Associate

 

Having benefited from the health care safety net as a child and young adult, Krista is dedicated to the mission of community health centers and relishes the opportunity to promote and support such an essential social service.


Thomas Johnson

Program Support Associate

 

Thomas is a recent Seattleite, having spent most of his life in the Tampa Bay area. His professional background is somewhat diverse, but he has primarily worked with organizations affiliated with either education or labor activism. Thomas manages NWRPCA's event registrations.


Sharon Green

Program Information Specialist

Sharon brings excellent communication skills to NWRPCA, and values the organization’s team-based approach. She enjoys watching the growth of community health as it moves beyond clinical care to creating partnerships for healthy, thriving communities.

Marleen Arenivar

Event Planner

Marleen oversees event planning at NWRPCA. Her focus will primarily be managing and executing logistics for NWRPCA’s conferences and trainings throughout the year. Marleen most recently was a contractor for Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise Group. Her event planning career includes working for both non-profit and private sector organizations. She spent time planning and managing fundraising events at the Alliance for Education and the March of Dimes. She is currently working on getting her PMP certification from Bellevue Community College. On her spare time she enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her son, partner, and dogs (Buffy & Sarge). She is happy and excited to be a part of the NWRPCA team.

Theresa Vu

Workforce Coordinator 

Theresa provides administrative support to workforce programs, including the NWRPCA/A.T. Still SOMA Campus and Education Health Center Initiative. She also manages the careers database. Our students and healthcare professionals regularly benefit from her excellent customer service skills, and she likes knowing she is helping future medical clinicians and administrators become leaders in our community health centers.

Rosa Mitsumasu Scotti

Development Coordinator

Rosa Mitsumasu Scotti brings a diverse, mission-driven background to NWRPCA. As Development Coordinator, she believes in the power of connecting people to causes and missions for collective action. In her spare time, Rosa loves to travel, practice yoga, and explore the outdoors. She is an active member of the Center for Women & Democracy and is a supporting alumni of engagement and curriculum development for the Leadership Institute.

Brianna Oliver

Marketing Specialist 

Brianna is a rights activist who believes in the power of communications and online communities to bring about substantial and lasting change. She has a background in human rights advocacy in Washington, D.C., international disaster relief, and emergency medical services. Brianna is passionate about health and wellness, and believes in the mission and work of NWRPCA.
