The Leadership/Management Progression
Core Competency Training for First-time Community Health Managers and Supervisors
This intensive three-day training program is for new CHC leaders who want to develop and hone their management skills. The course is specifically designed to increase competence and confidence on the job, and to aid in the transition from peer to supervisor. NWRPCA has offered this program several times under the instruction of acclaimed trainer Angela Prater. New sessions are being planned.
Mid-Level Management Training Knowledgeable, skilled, competent and versatile mid-level managers are essential to successful operations and service delivery at community health centers. Many managers, however, are hired or promoted into their roles without having acquired the necessary skills for success. This course, generally offered every two years, teaches managers to to hire, train, coach and retain staff, and prepares them to successfully lead and manage change.
NWRPCA Program in Community Health Leadership
The dramatic growth of health centers in the Northwest and other areas of the country, coupled with their increasing complexity, has created a demand for mid- and senior-level leaders who possess expansive knowledge of health center management and operations.
NWRPCA has partnered in the past with the University of Washington for the CHLI-UW Certificate in Community Health Leadership Program, and leading healthcare consultants Roger Chaufournier and Kimberly McNally for Health Systems Transformation programs.
Geiger Gibson Training Program in Health Policy and Leadership
This health policy capstone experience developed by George Washington University is aimed at mid-career health center senior staff pursuing a course of study in executive leadership. This three-day intensive program in Washington, D.C., which includes presentations by top healthcare policy leaders and dialogue with legislators, provides a superior foundation for CHC leaders interested in influencing regional and national directions in healthcare.
