Primary Care Associations in Region X

Region X is a federally-defined geographic area that covers the northwest states of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. In addition to NWRPCA, four additional primary care associations operate in Region X, including:

* Alaska Primary Care Association
* Idaho Primary Care Association
* Oregon Primary Care Association
* Washington Association of Community and Migrant Health Centers

As a regional PCA, we are able to offer services that are cost effective on a multi-state level, such as multi-topic conferences and trainings and region-wide clinician recruitment and migrant health support. State PCAs provide crucial leadership in state-based advocacy, on-site technical assistance for health centers, and outreach campaigns to enroll uninsured individuals in public insurance programs. NWRPCA and our state PCA partners have a strong tradition of partnering to provide comprehensive coverage of the region.

State Primary Care Offices

State governments support primary health care through an administrative bureau appropriate for that state. Each state in Region X has a state-funded, state-operated Primary Care Office:

* Alaska: Health Planning and Systems Development, Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Health Care Services
* Idaho: State Office of Rural Health & Primary Care
* Oregon: Primary Care Office, Department of Human Services
* Washington: Office of Community Development, Washington State Department of Health
