In the tradition of personal advice columns, NWRPCA brings you this new plainspoken advice column each month through QuickNotes. The idea originated at NWRPCA’s last Spring Primary Care Conference in Anchorage, Alaska. During the pre-conference health home Bootcamp with Adele Allison, attendees were given a card with a letter of the alphabet and associated topics (E.g., The Letter “A” was associated with Affordable Care Act, Accountable Care Organizations, Audit Trails, Ad Hoc Reporting, Acute Care, Advanced Directive, Advanced Practice Nurse, Aging Populations, AIDS.). Working to identify the ABC’s of Healthcare, participants were asked to associate any overarching questions they had in an effort to align their health home efforts with other initiatives, dynamics and demands on CHC resources. Ample questions were harvested, and today Adele offers you solid advice and guidance on the first half of these questions. The second half will be posted next month.
Adele rose from the private payer market and has nearly 14 years in health IT with SuccessEHS, a division of Vitera. There she is charged with monitoring changes and mandates in healthcare reform, legislation and policy to ensure that clients and parties of interest are well positioned to navigate new challenges. Viewed as a straight shooter, Adele Allison opens the communication channels for a more responsive dialog and sharing of information. Ask Adele will be featured each month.
Readers are encouraged to email questions to membership@NWRPCA.org. Questions received by the end of each month will be featured in the following month’s advice column.
