To assist health centers in achieving great operational effectiveness, Northwest Regional Primary Care Association has fostered the development of a regional network of human resources (HR) professionals at health centers.
In 2002, we offered the first human resources-specific topics at our fall conference. We continue to offer HR sessions at the Fall NWRPCA/CHAMPS Primary Care Conferences and at the Spring NWRPCA Primary Care Conferences with topics ranging from labor law updates to conflict management and supervisory training.
Beginning in 2002 we introduced the HR listserv, which quickly became our largest and most active listserv. In addition, NWRPCA offers human resources-focused webinars and training calls. We continue to add resources to meet the steadily rising demand for HR technical assistance.
NWRPCA also provides informational support such as the biennial Region X Health Center Salary, Benefits, Turnover and Vacancy Survey Report. Additionally, we have partnered with the National Association of Community Health Centers to perform the first comprehensive national assessment of Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) human resources services and support in order to assist primary care associations in best supporting health center HR functions.
