Overview

 

The Finance Management Bootcamp two-day training is designed for people relatively new to the FQHC industry and would like to become familiar with all the terms, issues, and regulations facing FQHCs. The objectives of this session will be geared toward educating new CFOs and other finance/business office personnel of FQHCs with all the topics and relevant issues they will need to know.

 

Attending this training will enable participants to:

  • Understand all aspects of PPS reimbursement from both a state and federal perspective.
  • Obtain an understanding of the revenue cycle and billing of an FQHC.
  • Gain knowledge of complying with the Sliding Scale Fee discount and the HRSA PIN.
  • Learn an overview of what it takes to be a CFO at a FQHC and the annual reporting requirements.
  • Understand how to prepare and interpret the clinic’s monthly financial statements.
  • Develop key financial indicators required for financial reporting.
  • Understand the intricacies of drawing down on the 330 grant and quarterly/annual FFR reporting.
  • Acquire knowledge on reports – UDS, PPS Reconciliations, Medicare Cost reports, etc for an FQHC.
  • Learn the Section 330 requirements and governance to maintain compliance in their organization.
  • Increase their knowledge about 340B and the proper financial reporting.
  • Meet a panel of FQHC experts and ask them questions.

Speakers

 

Steven Rousso

Partner, Wipfli LLP

 

Mr. Rousso has over 27 years of experience in the health care industry, including nine years working with Big Five consulting firms. He is a co-founder of HFS Consultants.

 

Mr. Rousso has assisted hospitals and clinics in reimbursement issues, new program development, feasibility studies, HPSA designations, licensing and certification including rural health clinics, primary care clinics, FQHC's, new starts and has acted as a chief financial officer for a group of six primary care clinics. He also acts as a consultant to both CHA and CPCA regarding licensing and reimbursement issues.

 

A featured speaker for the California Healthcare Association, Mr. Rousso has also addressed the Association of Healthcare Districts, Hospital Council, and California Association of Primary Care Clinics on a variety of health care issues and has published numerous articles on the health care industry.

 

Mr. Rousso received a B.S. in Health Services Administration and an MPA in Health Services Administration from the University of Arizona, and also has an MBA in Health Care Management from Golden Gate University. He is also a licensed nursing home administrator in California.
