Overview

Day 1

The Uniform Data System (UDS) in-person training is a full day program covering the preparation of the 2017 UDS Report. The training addresses each of the report’s tables, including a discussion of the changes that have been made and the definitions necessary to complete the Report. The UDS training is aimed at those who are responsible for gathering and reporting the data elements included in the UDS Report, as well as management and clinical staff who need to understand the definitions and concepts used and those who use the data in their program management and improvement activities.

Day 2

Disparities in clinical quality-related data derived from EHR reports compared to sampling charts can lead to diminished quality outcomes, mistrust of the EHR system, and misdirected efforts at quality improvement. This session will address these data disparities and what can be done about them. In addition, the workshop will introduce the "Guide for Improving Care Processes and Outcomes in FQHCs" that includes strategies and tools designed for quality, clinical and other health center staff to support quality improvement efforts.

  1. Interpret data and use comparisons/ trends to understand my organization’s data better.
  2. Describe the value and purpose of a data validation tool(s) and activities.
  3. Describe 3 key drivers of health IT enabled quality improvement.
  4. Describe 1-3 tools or methods to apply for health-IT enabled QI methods for performance improvement on key targets.

CPE credits are available for this training.
