Overview

Are you leaving money on the table that should be coming to your health center for services rendered?

 

Effective revenue cycle management, including optimal coding and billing, is critical to a health center’s financial success. Understanding and maximizing Medicare billing and PPS rate changes are also fundamental to good fiscal health. Staffing, including the front desk charge capture function, is mission-critical as well.

This two-part webinar series is designed to help attendees understand the basics of revenue cycle management and calculate key performance indicators (KPIs) for determining CHC financial health.

With over 15 years of experience and a diverse background in health center finance and operations management, Williams brings a wealth of knowledge to this webinar series specific to community health centers. She has presented at NWRPCA conferences and as a NACHC spokesperson at national engagements. She has also facilitated webinars on healthcare issues with HRSA, and with CMS on ICD-10. Williams served as an expert panelist for sustainability in healthcare. She earned a bachelor's degree in accountancy from the University of Missouri.

Medicare PPS Rate as of October 2014

What has been your experience since October 2014 with the PPS rate changes? This webinar will provide follow-up on the provider coding changes (including G codes), fee schedule updates, billing system modifications and pricing methodologies to set fees associated with coding updates. This is also a chance to explore current implementation practices, what’s working, and where the challenges lie.

Effective Reimbursement with Payment Posting 

A key component to the revenue cycle process is payment posting (including unpaid and denied claim management using automated payment posting). Crucial to the process is the ability to understand remittance advice data and interpretation of the data, as well as the process of denials and non-covered services. Adjustments need to be properly allocated and balances collected. Data can be tracked and decisions made based on the data collected and processed. This is a chance to make the deeper dive into these issues.

Series Two topics cover front desk and demographic charge capture, staffing of the revenue cycle management team and key performance indicators for supervisors, billing team members and financial staff and operations staff.
