Northwest Regional Primary Care Association (NWRPCA) is a
non-profit membership association that works to ensure equal access to primary
health care for all residents living in Alaska,
Idaho, Oregon
and Washington.
We support and strengthen community-based health centers as they deliver
primary health care to urban, rural and frontier communities throughout the Northwest.
We believe that the key to expanding access for medically
underserved communities is strengthening health centers so that they can provide
high quality, cost effective, comprehensive health care services throughout the
region.
Health centers are federally supported non-profit or
public corporations that offer primary medical care,
interpretation/translation, transportation, outreach and other enabling
services. Some sites also offer oral health, behavioral health and pharmacy
services.
Health centers are open to all, regardless of financial or
insurance status. They offer a safety net for their community’s most vulnerable
residents while at the same time providing a quality of care that is equal to or
greater than national standards. Health centers in the Northwest can be found
in remote frontier villages, high-density urban areas, isolated islands and
rural farming and ranching communities.
